positive psychology in business and education
Training
We work with public and private sector clients primarily in business, education and health & social care sectors, to design, develop and deliver evidence-based consultancy, training and resources, including one-off webinars on well-being topics like mental health, bite-size online workshops, school and university Masters-level curricula, face-to-face applied positive psychology training programmes for professionals.
Whether it’s in the workplace or elsewhere in our lives, the benefits of happiness are clear. Happier people also learn more, earn more, are more productive and more fulfilled. But well-being at work often gets overlooked – why? And at what cost?
The UK government estimates that sickness absence, labour turnover, and “presenteeism” – workers who are there in body, but otherwise contributing little – costs upwards of £26 billion a year. With greater focus on well-being, that loss could turn around not just financially, but in terms of engagement, a greater sense of purpose and job satisfaction.
It’s no surprise that “Positive Psychology 101” has become one of the most popular courses at Harvard Business School. Organisations are realising that by fostering greater well-being and resilience – in ourselves, in our relationships and in our staff – we can intentionally improve the quality of our lives and help our businesses succeed and our careers thrive.
UAE Government, Well-being in the Workplace
Working with leading positive psychologist, Dr Ilona Boniwell, we designed and developed the Well-being in the Workplace training programme for the UAE government, as well as training over 150 leaders from different government departments including Health, Education and Transport to implement the programme in their departments. The programme is built on four pillars of well-being: Purpose, Potential, Relationships and Health & Well-being. The toolkit includes four Workplace Practices Guides, a Course Manual with detailed instructions on over 120 different evidence-based activities, a Well-being Dashboard and strength cards
Earn Happiness School
The EARN Happiness School is a series of workshops hosted by EARN Studios in which we focus on creating our happiness goals for the year and increasing our individual well-being, resilience and performance. We combine education with experience, bringing together employees and clients – to make the most of our strengths to boost collaboration, creativity and productivity.
The EARN Happiness School gives participants the time to reflect and the opportunity to learn together and helps to inspire each person to apply their unique strengths in reaching their goals. EARN is leading the way with this innovative approach to boosting progress, productivity, and fulfilment in every part of life.
Danish Institute
Since 2014 we have delivered interactive Strengths workshops for the Danish Institute for Study Abroad in Copenhagen. Due to Covid-19, in 2020 we successfully ran these workshops online.
Bounce Back! Resilience & Well-being Programme
Since 2010 we have delivered Bounce Back! training programmes to school staff. Bounce Back! is an award-winning, preventative whole school well-being and resilience programme for primary schools. Drawing on Positive Psychology and Cognitive Psychology theories and evidence, it has been designed and developed by educational psychologists Dr. Toni Noble and Dr. Helen McGrath, and recently updated after over 10 years of practical application. Bounce Back! has been shown to improve educational attainment, attendance and encourage positive behaviour for learning, as well as increase teachers’ well-being and resilience (Axford, Blyth & Schepens, 2010).
